Yes or No Wheel

Ask a question, spin, and let the wheel decide. Add Maybe for a third option, or play best of 3 when one spin doesn't feel like enough. Great for everyday decisions and for classroom votes.

How to use it

  1. Type your question if you like, so everyone can see what the wheel is deciding.
  2. Press Spin, tap the wheel or press Space. The answer appears in the middle when the wheel stops.
  3. For a bigger decision, choose Best of 3: keep spinning until one answer comes up twice. Switch to Yes / No / Maybe for a third option.

Common questions

Is the yes or no wheel fair?

Yes. The answer is chosen with your browser's cryptographic random number generator before the wheel moves, and each answer covers exactly the same share of the wheel. Yes and No each have a 50% chance.

Why are there several Yes and No slices?

A wheel with only two halves looks dull when it spins, so each answer appears four times, alternating around the wheel. Every answer still covers the same total area, so the odds don't change.

How does best of 3 work?

Spin until one answer has come up twice. With Yes and No that takes two or three spins. With Maybe added, three different answers in a row lead to a fourth spin, which always decides it.

Can I use it in class?

Yes. Teachers use it for quick class decisions, would-you-rather warm-ups and true-or-false quizzes. Press Present (or F) to show just the question, the wheel and the answer on the projector.

Should I make important decisions with it?

Use it for fun, low-stakes choices or to break a tie. A handy trick: if you feel disappointed by the answer, you've learned what you really wanted.

Does it work on my phone?

Yes. It works in any modern browser on phones, tablets, Chromebooks and computers. There's nothing to install, no account and no pop-ups, and your questions never leave your device.
