Random Team Generator
Split the class into fair teams for a quiz, a game or PE. Teams get fun names, sizes stay even, and you can make sure the usual pairs end up on different sides.

Questions teachers ask
How are the teams chosen?
Players are shuffled with your browser's cryptographic random number generator, then dealt into teams so team sizes differ by at most one. Every arrangement is equally likely unless you add rules.
Can I stop two friends from always being on the same team?
Yes. In Rules, choose the two students with "keep apart from". The rule is saved with your class and used for every shuffle.
Can I balance the teams by skill?
Tag students with a level such as A, B and C on the Your classes page, then tick "Mix tags evenly" so each team gets a similar mix.
Where do the team names come from?
Each shuffle picks names like Red Foxes and Teal Dolphins at random, never repeating one in the same round. Untick Fun team names to use Team 1, Team 2 instead.
Can I keep score after making teams?
A classroom scoreboard that takes these teams is coming soon. Until then, Copy as text gives you a list to paste anywhere.
